Pro and your licence
Activating Draftlist with your key, using it on up to three Macs, moving to a new Mac, and what happens when you are offline.
Draftlist needs a licence to open. There is no account and no password: your licence key is all you need.
Draftlist and Draftlist Pro
There are two licences.
- Draftlist has every project on your Mac in one list, samples and plugins ranked by how often you use them, one click to open a set in Live, and playlists, notes and project backups.
- Draftlist Pro adds Presets, Curations sound sorting, audio analysis on your Mac, and filtering samples by Draftlist's own tags. Collections is coming with Pro.
Sound sorting needs a Mac with Apple Silicon and macOS 14 or later. You can move from Draftlist to Pro later, from Settings ▸ Licence. You pay the difference.
Activate with your key
- Open Draftlist and press Get started.
- Paste your licence key into Licence key. It is in your receipt email, and on your purchases page. A pasted key activates at once; a typed one when you press Return.
- Draftlist shows Thanks, you're in., who the licence belongs to, and how many of your 3 Macs it is on.
- Press Set up your library to start your first scan.

If the key doesn't work

Up to 3 Macs
One licence works on up to 3 Macs. Settings ▸ Licence shows how many are in use, this one included.
Moving to a new Mac? Deactivate the old one first:
- On the old Mac, open Settings ▸ Licence.
- Press Deactivate this Mac, then Deactivate.
- Enter your key on the new Mac.
Draftlist stops on the deactivated Mac until a key is entered again. Its library stays as it is. If you no longer have the old Mac, Manage licence opens the shop's page, where you can free its place.
Licence checks and offline use
Draftlist checks your licence online when it opens and about once a day. The check sends your key and a label for this Mac, never its serial number or its name.
- Draftlist keeps working for 24 hours without a check.
- Draftlist Pro features need a check each time Draftlist opens. Without one, Pro pages say "Connect to the internet to use Pro." Your projects, plugins and samples keep working.
After 24 hours without a check, Draftlist shows Draftlist needs to check your licence. Connect to the internet and press Retry. It opens again the moment a check gets through. Your library is kept as it is.
Note Setting the Mac's clock back does not extend the 24 hours. Draftlist shows "Clock changed" until a check gets through.
Press Check now in Settings ▸ Licence to check at any time.
Refunds
If Draftlist isn't for you, ask for a refund within 14 days. Email support@draftlist.app. When a licence is refunded, Draftlist stops at its next licence check. The refund policy has the details.
