Settings

What every tab in Settings does, from the Live version that opens your sets to the diagnostics you can send to support.

Open Settings with ⌘,, from the sidebar, or from search (⌘K). It has seven tabs: General, Licence, Folders, Library, Collections, Advanced and About. Settings opens on the last tab you used.

You can also type the name of any setting into search to jump straight to it.

General

  • Open sets with. Pick which Ableton Live opens your sets. Draftlist lists every Live in Applications, with its version. The newest release is picked at first. If you pick a Beta, Draftlist reminds you that a set saved in a Beta may not open in the release.
  • Appearance. Draftlist is dark only. Choose the density (Compact, Default or Comfortable) and the text size (Small, Default, Large or Larger). You can also show the mini game in the sidebar.
  • Sample preview. "Auto-play samples when browsing with the arrow keys" works like Ableton's browser. It is on at first.
  • Key detection. Show how confident the MIDI key detection is. Off at first.
  • The tour. Press Take the tour again for the walk through Draftlist. The tour is also in the Help menu, and in search.

Licence

Your licence: its status, who it is licensed to, how many Macs use it, and when it was last checked. This is where you deactivate this Mac. Pro and your licence has the details.

Folders

Four lists of folders: Project folders, Sample folders, Preset folders and Plugin folders. Each has Add folder.

  • Draftlist scans your project folders. Removing one keeps what was already scanned.
  • Sample folders are not scanned. Draftlist finds your samples through your projects.
  • Some folders are read without being added, marked Default: Live's User Library for presets, and the Mac's standard plugin folders. Each has a switch to leave it out.
  • A folder on a drive that is not plugged in says it isn't connected. Its projects stay in the list.
  • Serum preset folders Pro shows the Serum folders Draftlist found and the copies it made there. See Presets.

Library

  • Scanning. "Keep the library up to date automatically" re-reads a set a few seconds after you save it. It is on at first. Scan intensity is Low (one project at a time) or Normal (a few at a time). Rebuild (re-read every project) starts again from scratch.
  • Online-only projects. How many of your projects are only in the cloud, with Download all online-only and Show them. Choose what Download fetches: just the sets (small and quick) or whole project folders (can be large). Draftlist asks before a download bigger than 10 GB. It never downloads until you press Download.
  • Sample analysis Pro. How many sounds are analysed, sorted and still to go, with Analyze now and Stop. Cloud-only files are analysed once they are downloaded. This is also where you review the sorter's "Not sure yet" pile. See Curations.
  • Library database. Where Draftlist keeps its library, with Reveal, and where your Ableton User Library is.

Collections

Collections is coming with Draftlist Pro. Its settings choose where chains go, check that the folder is in Live's browser, and control downloads and updates. See Collections.

Advanced

  • Diagnostics. Copy diagnostics puts a short technical report on your clipboard, with the last crash note if there is one. Nothing is sent. Paste it into an email to support if they ask.
  • Reset. Restore all settings to defaults… puts appearance, column layouts, filters, key display and scan preferences back as they were. Your folders, library and playlists are not touched.

About

  • Your Draftlist version and build.
  • Updates: the automatic update check, and Check for updates. See Updates.
  • Contact support and Report a bug. See Troubleshooting.
  • Third-party credits, and the privacy policy, licence agreement and refund policy.
